Manhattan McDonald S Pioneer Lists Park Avenue Penthouse



How many Big Macs do you have to sell to buy a Park Avenue penthouse? Just ask Irwin S. Kruger, an early McDonald’s franchisee who introduced the fast food chain to Midtown in 1973. He just listed his own penthouse– at 1185 Park Avenue — for $18.5 million, city records show.

The four-bedroom co-op comes complete with with a four-and-a-half bathrooms, 11-feet-high ceilings, a private elevator landing, a living room with floor-to-ceiling bookcases, a wood-burning fireplace and access to the terrace, and a formal dining room that currently serves as a family room with a billiard table and drop down movie screen.



The home also has an eat-in chef’s kitchen with stainless steel appliances including two dishwashers, a library that is being used a dining room, a bedroom wing, a staff bedroom, and a private wrap-around terrace that spans more than 1,700 square feet.

It is not known when Kruger, who also opened the three-story McDonald’s on the edge of Times Square in 2002, bought the pad.
